Nationally Acclaimed, Retired Detective Don Tabak

Behind the Scenes of Homicide and High Profile Crimes

Don Tabak had plans to be an athlete. He made it as far as the minor league in baseball before acknowledging it was not his destiny. When a friend told him he should join the police force, and dangled the fact that he could meet girls as well as  play baseball and football with the police teams, Don’s attention was piqued.

When the same friend mentioned the salary police officers made, Don was all-in. By most standards a police officer salary is not something to be excited about, but Don had struggled his whole life, and the security of that salary sealed the deal for him.

Don describes himself as a twenty year old, irreverent guy with zero life experience when he joined the Force. He talks openly about how his attitude and immaturity earned him the disdain of other Officers, and how he realized he needed to change.

His candidness about those moments as well as the events involved with several of the homicide cases he investigated make this interview not only fascinating but insightful. It’s also not suitable for virgin ears, as it is peppered with salty language.

If you are easily offended this episode will probably not be for you. But if you are someone who appreciates raw expressions and nitty-gritty truths, you will love this interview.

If you enjoy all those true crime shows out there, and want to hear some of the things those shows edit out  of those interviews with Law Enforcement Officers, turn the volume up on this one.

From his early start working the prostitution beat, to catching pedophiles, to working some of Hollywood’s most notorious cases, Don shares the stories behind the stories. He also talks about current events and which cases of police shootings are justified, vs which are not.  His insight and opinions are unapologetic and straight-to-the point.

So buckle up, Buttercup – and get ready for one of the most real looks into Law Enforcement that you’ve ever seen before.
