See why Jay Leno, Rob Lowe, Maria Shriver, Tim Allen, Colin Powell, Ron Howard, Kristin Chenoweth and so many more are giving thanks to Actor Gary Sinise in this touching heartfelt video.

The #GratefulLikeGary video features messages from a slew of other celebrities, members of our military, and veterans.

“You’re greatly appreciated coast to coast in the U.S.,” raves country singer Kellie Pickler. “And base to base across the globe.”

Actor Gary Sinise is receiving this all-star and all American salute because of his decades of tireless service to military veterans, first responders and their families.

It’s also a great way to celebrate Gary’s new book.

The #GratefulLikeGary video comes on the same day as the release of Sinise’s new memoir, Grateful American: From Self to Service.

The 63-year-old actor says he wrote the book as a way to hopefully inspire people to find their own purpose by helping others, something he believes is his true calling in life.

“Your commitment, your dedication, you are awesome,” said his Apollo 13 director Ron Howard.

“It’s really heartwarming and so incredibly meaningful… all of the amazing things that you do,” added Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik.

“Thank you for all the things you have done for our men and women who have served our nation, Not only what you’ve done for them but for their children, what you’ve done for their families, what you’ve done to help them rebuild their lives.” – General Colin Powell

The Grateful Like Gary Sinise video also includes kind words and gratitude from war veterans, first responders from all over the country and families of military veterans, including recipients of brand new homes that are given away via the Foundation’s RISE program.

Additionally, the Gary Sinise Foundation thanked their founder in the description of the video for spending the last four decades “supporting our active duty service men and women, veterans, first responders, their families and caregivers, and those in need.”

The video ends with very fitting words from Sinise’s Forrest Gump costar Tom Hanks.

“Thanks, Lieutenant. Dan!” he says with a smile.

The Gary Sinise Foundation encourages anyone who wants to participate in the moment of gratitude to share the video on social media along with a comment or video expressing why they are #GratefulLikeGary for the kindness and dedication of someone in their life.
