Living After Dying, with Stephanie Arnold

Living After Dying, with Stephanie Arnold

"The day my son was born, I died. Premonitions told me it was going to happen, but no one believed me. Even more unbelievable? What I would see when I flat-lined for 37 Seconds. What I brought back was the hope, strength and understanding of the light existing within and around all of us."

Have you ever had a feeling that something terrible is about to happen, but thought you were crazy? Have you mentioned it to anyone else and realized they think you’re crazy, too? And then something terrible does happen- maybe not to you, but to someone you know or love? Have you ever looked back at a moment or an event and been mad at yourself for not paying attention to that gut feeling?

If you’ve ever wondered what those gut feelings mean and if you should pay attention to them, you want to pay close attention to this interview with Stephanie Arnold.

Stephanie Arnold earned several prestigious awards and an Emmy nomination during her 27 year career in television production.

She left that career to focus on building her family. Her first baby arrived with no complications, so Stephanie had no reason to worry when she became pregnant again. This time, though, was different.

What started as an easier pregnancy than her first took a turn for worse at an ultrasound.Stephanie was diagnosed with placenta previa, a condition in which the placenta attaches in a dangerous position on the uterine wall.

In rare instances, this leads to placenta accreta, with the placenta deeply embedded in the uterine wall. Tearing the placenta off the wall leads to hemorrhaging and can be fatal for the mother.  Placenta accreta is rare, Stephanie was told. Don’t worry, you’ll be fine.”

But Stephanie was filled with a sense of dread that rapidly intensified to the point she knew she was going to die in childbirth. A series of premonitions were so real to her that she shared her fears with everyone she could, desperate for answers and a proactive approach to save her life.

Her persistence had people shaking their heads and wondering what happened to the normally sensible Stephanie, but no one truly believed her.

Stephanie knew as she was being wheeled into an emergency C-section that she was entering the room that would bring life to her son and end her own life. She did, in fact, technically die on the operating table.

Stephanie flatlined for 37 seconds before doctors revived her body, and her story of those 37 seconds has been featured on Netflix and other major platforms.

In this episode, Stephanie Arnold talks about the premonitions she had before she died, and the lengths she went to, in order to find someone who believed her. She shares the last, desperate attempt she made to find help, and how that ultimately saved her life. Stephanie talks about her vivid experience in those 37 seconds and how it has forever changed her. She’s joined by a special guest, who offers a whole other perspective on her experience.
