Santa Clara University Says Blue Lives Matter is a Symbol of Racial Hatred
At first blush it seems like the Santa Clara University College in California is doing a fine job of supporting it’s students and staff. The email sent out says as much : “SCU is striving to create a campus community in which everyone is valued and can feel safe and respected.”
Seems great, right? Wouldn’t it be nice to know that every life and every person on a college campus is respected by all?
Of course it would. Maybe one day that will even happen. Today, though, is not that day.
This past October, roughly 200 students participated in a virtual diversity program at the university. According to a university announcement, “Many impactful and important” discussions were held.
So far so good. If that had been the end of it, this would be a hopeful story for everyone. But this is 2020, and common sense has been determined to be a flaw, so it does not end there.
According to university reports, the “safe space” of that meeting was traumatically shattered by the forced entry of White Supremacy.
Students and faculty tuned in to the program were shocked and horrified to see none other than John Loretto, the Assistant Director of Campus Safety Services, screaming vile, racist threats and insults to attendees. He stormed into the room and made it clear that Black Lives do not Matter nearly as much as police officer lives do. At least, that’s what students said.
This cannot and should not be tolerated. Campus officials immediately responded to distraught students complaining over the disrespect and fear they felt, and called for Loretto to be fired.
The only one who was surprised by this was Loretto, himself. He could not remember saying or doing any such things. His recollection of that program was quite the opposite, in fact. He remembered showing up, having polite and meaningful conversation, and going about his way keeping the campus safe for all.
It was only when officials pointed out his offense that he understood what he is charged with; he had a postcard on a shelf in the background of his screen.
There, visible for all to see, was a postcard with a Blue Lives Matter emblem on it.
In the newly “woke” society of 2020, showing support for police officers is considered “racist and cruel behavior.” It is strictly forbidden by anyone who is sincere about standing up for racial equality and denouncing systemic racism. You cannot both insist you are not racist and you also do not believe all police officers are racist. You cannot point out that police officers’ lives matter, too, no matter what the color of their skin is and anyone who is naive enough to insist that all lives matter may as well join the KKK, as far as the far Left is concerned.
How the Assistant Director of Campus Safety has not been exposed as a racist before his hatred was brazenly displayed, or what will happen next, is unclear. But if it goes down anything like it did in West Virginia this past June, Loretto will meekly submit himself upon the altar of white privilege and apologize for his ignorance.
That’s what West Virginia University Police Chief W.P. Chedester did after he committed a similar offense, displaying a flag with a thin blue line in it during a ZOOM call he participated in.
Chedester prefaced his apology with an effort as self-defense, pointing out that to him the flag is his way of honoring the community of first responders he is in.
After that, he fell to his knees and sought forgiveness for inadvertently traumatizing people who associate that flag with other things.
“I apologize for how this has damaged the trust I have worked to build with the community,” he goes on to say, before promising he took the flag down.
West Virginia University students and faculty can now breathe easy, knowing they have educated another ignorant American.
Let these cases be a lesson for all Americans – now that the Left effectively controls every industry and educational institution, the entire code of ethics and behavior in this country is more like Common Core than common sense. It does not matter if you agree with many of the same principles of basic human decency and rights as those on the Left do. What matters is that you arrive at those conclusions through the path they deem acceptable.
If you dare to show your work, explaining how you arrived at a particular conclusion, you better either be damn sure that process matches directly up with theirs, or be ready to be publicly shamed. The conclusion is irrelevant- what they are after is your thought process, itself.
Any questioning of this, any suggestion that there is more than one path to a destination, is offensive. And don’t even think about suggesting a different destination – that is almost treasonous these days.
Don’t despair; Freedom of speech, personal autonomy, and religious freedom is alive and well in America. All you have to do to ensure those rights is conform to the chosen language, behavior, political party, and religious preferences. Everyone else is subject to censorship and hefty doses of shaming.
What will come next in America is yet to be determined. Most of us have no control over the political games that impact our lives. What we do have control over, though, is how we respond.
For four years, those of us who are Moderate, Libertarian, or Conservative have watched those on the Left have meltdown after meltdown. We have been placed in a position to either defend our president or denounce him, with no middle ground for pointing out we do not agree with everything he says or does, but we stand for the things he stands for.
Prior to these elections, we saw cities boarding up and hunkering down “as if a hurricane is about to hit,” one Washington DC University advised its students.
It seems more riots and looting were anticipated – if Donald Trump had been declared the clear winner. Because now, although there are about 71 million disappointed and even outraged Americans, not a single riot has taken place in protest of what many believe to be massive voter fraud – except in Portland, of course, where no one even remembers what those riots are supposed to be about.
What you won’t see now is anyone doing anything like donning pink hats or vagina heads and screaming obscenities in protest of.. Obscenities.
What you will see is everyday Americans insisting on being able to trust in the election process and those we elect. You will see demands to fact check the election fraud reports as much as the Facebook Fact Checkers investigate every Conservative post.
And at the conclusion of this stage of the year in Infamy, you will see an America that is forever altered from what it was just one year ago. Let’s all just remind ourselves along the way that those of us who stand for the principles the Left is determined to destroy are better than what we’ve seen coming from that camp.
Let’s make America Great Again, Again by being the examples we want to see.
In the meantime, we’ll continue shining a light on the stories that are mostly overlooked but still mostly relevant.
God Bless America
